Written by Ed Smelser, Jason’s Father, Veteran and Patriot:

|I want to take this time to thank all of you who have prayed for my son Jason W. Smelser. With deep sadness I am letting you all know that Jason passed on 7 September at the age of 48. Jason has known nothing but service to America his entire life. Living all over the states and overseas as the child of a soldier. A few years after High School he joined his brother Jeremy in the US Army. Jason served and participated in the initial invasion of IRAQ and spent 3 years in Iraq and Afghanistan entertaining troops of American/NATO forces. He served as a soldier first and Army musician playing his guitar and raising the morale of 1000’s of troops in every area of the combat zone. After 20 years of service he retired in 2014. My entire family is heartbroken but we know he did and saw more in his life than 99% of AMERICANS. He has a son Drew who is currently serving as well. My prayers go out to his son and his siblings and us. The proud parents of our son, Jason W. Smelser., Gone But Not Forgotten!! Rest In Peace son. We will forever love him. |

You will NOT be forgotten.
